Did you know that Female Veterans face a huge employment problem once they are discharged from the military? Women vets have a 20% higher unemployment rate than do their male veteran
counterparts. Civilian women have a significantly lower rate of unemployment than do female veterans.
Much of this problem can be attributed to societal stigma such as women are incapable of being "bread winners" or women can't be "family providers". The stigma of perceived PTSD by civilian
employers pose problems that women may have been victims of MST. (Military Sexual Trauma)
The most trying years for female veterans is 2-3 years within their discharge as most women vets end up homeless due to economic stress.
